Who we support
After school, many young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities have nowhere to go. The school doors close, and the day stretches empty. Families do their best, but without structure, confidence and skills can quietly slip away.
Thabohlale is for those young adults, and the families who love them. We are building a safe, joyful, structured place where the journey of learning, growing, and belonging carries on long after school ends.
What we do
Our daily programme is built around routine, dignity, and meaningful activity. Six areas of focus shape every week.
Independent living skills
Preparing simple meals, cleaning, laundry, hygiene, time management, and personal responsibility.
Life skills development
Communication, emotional regulation, decision-making, problem-solving, and personal safety.
Creative and physical activities
Arts and crafts, music and movement, gardening, exercise, and sensory activities.
Community engagement
Supported volunteering, community service projects, local events, and partnerships.
Supported work development
Work-readiness training, task-based skill development, teamwork, and practical work exposure.
The Inclusive Café
A signature project launching in our third phase, run with support by young adults with disabilities.
